QUICK WEDDING TIPS

HOW DO I BOOK A GREAT DJ?

SHOULD I HIRE AN OFFICIANT?

SHOULD I HIRE AN OFFICIANT?

  • Ask them where their next gig is and go audition them.
  • Do the work - go over the music and the timeline - discuss departure time for photographer, staff, bar tenders etc.

  1. Research potential DJs: Look for recommendations from friends, family, and event planners. Check online reviews to see what previous clients have to say. Look at the DJ's website and social media accounts to get an idea of their style and experience.
  2. Contact potential DJs: Reach out to a few DJs that you're interested in and provide them with the date, location, and time of your wedding. Ask about their availability, pricing, and what services they offer.
  3. Schedule a meeting: Set up a meeting with your top choices to discuss your wedding vision, music preferences, and any special requests you may have. This will help you get a feel for their personality, communication style, and professionalism.
  4. Check their references: Ask the DJ for references and reach out to previous clients to hear about their experience working with them.
  5. Review the contract: Make sure the DJ provides you with a contract outlining their services, pricing, and any other details. Read it carefully and ask any questions before signing.
  6. Finalize details: A few weeks before the wedding, touch base with the DJ to confirm the details and provide them with any changes or updates.
  7. Enjoy your wedding day: Trust your DJ to keep the dance floor lively and your guests entertained so you can enjoy your special day stress-free!

THE CAKE MISTAKE

SHOULD I HIRE AN OFFICIANT?

THE CAKE MISTAKE

Cutting the wedding cake is one of the oldest traditions of a wedding reception. It is a moment that the bride and groom cherish and remember forever. However, if you don't know how to cut a cake or you are nervous, it can be stressful. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to cut a wedding cake, so you can enjoy the moment without any worries.

  1. Gather the supplies.

Make sure you have all the tools you need, including a cake knife, a cake server, and napkins. If you have a cake stand, make sure it's sturdy and level.

  1. Decide where to cut.

The first step is to decide where you want to cut the cake. Use a cake marker to make small dots on the cake where you will make the cuts. This will ensure that the cake is cut evenly.

  1. Cut the first slice.

Start by cutting the first slice, which is traditionally for the bride. Use the cake knife to cut a small slice from the bottom tier. Make sure to cut all the way through the cake, but don't use too much pressure, so you don't damage the cake.

  1. Cut the rest of the cake. SMALL SLICES!

Cut vertically down the cake, marking each slice with your cake marker. Use the cake server to transfer each slice to a plate. SMALL SLICES SAVE MONEY!

  1. Serve the cake.

Once all the slices are cut, start serving the cake to your guests. The server should hold the plate while the cake knife slides the slice onto it.

  1. Save the top tier.

Traditionally, couples save the top tier of their wedding cake for their first anniversary. Wrap it carefully in plastic wrap and store it in the freezer until that special day.

Cutting a wedding cake is a beautiful tradition that should be enjoyed by everyone. By following this simple guide, you can cut the cake like a pro, making sure that everyone gets a slice of the celebration.

WEDDING RECEPTION SCHEDULE

Get things done as quickly as possible - do NOT have a two hour cocktail hour - 45 minutes is plenty. Do events in this order and back to back: Toast, Cake cutting,  father dance, mother dance, 1st dance, say hi to your guests, La Marcha (or not), dollar dance (or not), garter and bouquet toss and then enjoy the evening without more events to keep doing, those who need to leave early get to enjoy your wedding more and now you can let go and have fun! It is also polite to photographer and any other staff that is being paid by the hour.

"They don't want me to do it..."

WAIT A SECOND!  It is your wedding, if you feel you need flamingos on the tables, then flamingos it is! Anything you do not do to please someone else is going to become something you regret not doing and you wish you had. GO WITH IT! Make your day as special as you imagined while planning it in your head. MAKE SURE everyone is happy and smiling and catering to your day being that much more special.

IT IS YOUR WEDDING - YOU ARE THE BOSS!

GETTING READY

GETTING READY

GETTING READY

Whatever time you think is "plenty of time" - IS NOT. That is the rule of thumb. So start four hours before your ceremony, ensure all of your bride's maids are there early with you having coffee and eating breakfast burritos. Make sure the guys are READY AND DRESED TWO HOURS BEFORE YOUR CEREMONY and AT the ceremony location ONE HOUR AT LEAST before your ceremony. Make a list starting with the worst thing you could forget and go down from there. HAVE FUN! Your wedding starts then!

Are your photos real?

How AI is risking to destroy your beautiful wedding photos:

Traditional wedding photography and artificial intelligence (AI) generated wedding photography represent two different approaches to capturing and preserving memories of a couple's special day. Let's compare them:

  1. Creative Control: Traditional wedding photography involves a human photographer who brings their artistic vision, experience, and personal style to the images. They can interact with the couple, direct poses, and capture candid moments in real-time. On the other hand, AI-generated photography relies on algorithms and predefined rules to process and enhance images. While AI can produce technically impressive results, it lacks the human touch and creative decision-making ability.
  2. Personalized Approach: A traditional photographer can build a personal connection with the couple, understand their preferences, and tailor the photography to reflect their unique style and story. They can adapt to the environment, adjust lighting, and make on-the-spot adjustments to ensure the best possible outcome. AI-generated photography, however, relies on predetermined algorithms and lacks the ability to understand individual preferences and emotions.
  3. Emotional Capture: A skilled traditional photographer can anticipate and capture the raw emotions and intimate moments that unfold during a wedding. They can focus on the couple, family, and guests, capturing expressions, tears, and laughter. AI-generated photography will struggle to capture such nuanced emotions since it relies on pre-programmed algorithms that not humanly understand the context or sentiment of the moment.
  4. Post-processing and Editing: Traditional photographers often spend considerable time and effort in post-processing and editing to enhance and refine the final images. They can apply their artistic vision, retouch images, adjust colors, and create custom effects. AI-generated photography, while capable of automated editing and enhancement, may lack the human touch and subjective decision-making that a traditional photographer can provide.
  5. Flexibility and Adaptability: Traditional photographers can adapt to various shooting conditions, handle challenging lighting situations, and adjust their approach based on the dynamics of the wedding. They can also provide real-time feedback and suggestions to the couple, helping them feel comfortable and natural during the shoot. AI-generated photography operates within predefined parameters and may struggle with unexpected or complex situations.

In summary, traditional wedding photography offers a personalized and creative approach, focusing on emotional capture and artistic expression. While AI-generated wedding photography can provide technically impressive results, it may lack the human touch, personalized approach, and creative decision-making that many couples value when documenting their special day. Ultimately, the choice between the two approaches depends on the couple's preferences, budget, and desired outcome. Some couples may prefer a traditional photographer for their experience and personal touch, while others may find value in the efficiency and convenience of AI-generated photography.
